Appreciation Аward for Bella by BFB

Food holding Bella was awarded with the Appreciation Diploma of the Bulgarian Food Bank (BFB) for developed sympathy and support of the organization’s cause to reduce wastage of food and providing food assistance to the needy people in Bulgaria. The diploma received Atanas Urdzhanov - Operations Director in Bella - personally by the BFB Executive Director Tsanka Milanova during a special ceremony held in Sofia on December 13th with the participation of the BFB longtime partners - volunteers, companies, organizations, institutions and media that support the overall activities of the BHB from its very start.

At the event BFB made the performance of its first national fund-raising campaign ‘Become one of us - donate hope’. The campaign aims BFB to reach daily every fourth Bulgarian child, every second adult and every fifth family in our country for whom hunger is a routine. Anyone wishing to join and support the efforts for having fewer starving people in Bulgaria can do it by sending DMS HRANA to 17 777 at the price of 1 lev. With each donated lev BFB will be able to provide at least 10 servings food for children, single parents, elderly or disabled people.

Bella is among the founding members and major donors of BFB - the only organization that works to reduce hunger and malnutrition fighting wastage of edible food and its utilization to ensure long-term food assistance to people in need. The Food bank collects, stores and distributes donated food products in all safety requirements by developing a network of partner organizations that implement long-term programs of food assistance to people in need. From 2012 to present BFB has collected and gave away more than 1 200 tons edible food donated by over 140 donors. With its network of over 70 partner organizations across the country BFB has provided food assistance to more than 65,000 needy people. More about the campaign and the BFB at www.bgfoodbank.org
