June 7
The Minister of Tourism of Indonesia, H.E. Dr. Sandiaga Uno, and the country's ambassador to Bulgaria, Iwan Bogananta, visited the rendang-padang production factory of the food company Bella Bulgaria in Kostievo (Plovdiv). It is the first in Europe created specifically for the production of the Indonesian delicacy - slow-cooked beef with herbs and spices according to an authentic recipe from the western part of the island of Sumatra. The production capacity is 30 tons per month. The investment is worth USD 3 mln and includes the purchase of new food technologies, production facilities and a logistics partnership for the distribution of the product in Europe and the Middle East.
The project is implemented on the initiative of H.E. Ambassador Bogananta in support of Indonesian President H.E. Joko Widodo's program: Indonesia – Spice Up the World.
"We have chosen Bella Bulgaria as our strategic partner, with whom we can jointly present the gastronomic business card of our country to the world. The company is a leading food producer in Europe. It has 12 production plants in Bulgaria, a highly developed logistics network and it has a Halal certificate," commented H.E. Iwan Bogananta.
"This project is another new trend in the European meat market, in which Bella Bulgaria plays a leading role. We are happy to offer this new flavor to consumers in Europe and the Middle East," commented the company's COO Dimitar Mitev.
The rendang produced by Bella Bulgaria is based on a special Asian technology. Indonesia has chosen rendang-padang, a specially flavored meat infused with the aromatic spices of the Padang region, as its gastronomic calling card. The product itself is a cultural heritage of Indonesia, which was honored as one of the best foods in CNN's "World's 50 Best Foods" ranking.
Bella Bulgaria is the food expert since 1997. The company is a supplier to the large international and local retail chains in Bulgaria, Germany, Spain, the Balkans and Central Europe. It is a distributor of leading global food companies in Bulgaria. The production capacity is 350 tons of food per day. It owns food production and distribution bases in Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Hungary. All production facilities in Bulgaria are powered by green energy. It owns registered patents certifying global innovations in food production.
Bella Bulgaria presents in over 40 markets a rich portfolio of products with a Bulgarian taste - pasta, meat delicacies and spreads. The role of a strategic partner in the Indonesia: Spice Up the World initiative is key to the successful supply of rendang-padang to counterparties such as catering companies, embassies and other Indonesian government missions in Europe and the Middle East. The fourth most populous country in the world after China, India and the USA (273 million people) has one of the largest diasporas in Europe and together with Bella Bulgaria reaches out to them.
