BELLA Starts the First Scholarships for Students in Food Industry in Bulgaria

BELLA starts the first Scholarship Programme for students educating in food technologies. In partnership with universities in Bulgaria, the company will honour the best young professionals and in addition to a financial support will give students an opportunity for professional development. The first three scholars of BELLA will be students from the University of Food Technologies (UFT) in Plovdiv. Some of the best specialists in food industry in the country are graduates from the UFT. Annually the food holding participate in students’ professional training with practical programmes in the factories of BELLA. New way of partnership was declared with ‘Cooperation Agreement in the Field of Education’, signed by Mrs Elsa Markova, BELLA CEO and Prof. Kolyo Dinkov DSc, Rector at UFT.

`For us, as a company leader in the domestic food industry is very important young professionals to stay in Bulgaria and to be well prepared for the practice. So, we enable the best of students to win an annual scholarships of 2 000 leva`, said the CEO of BELLA Elza Markova.

`We are glad that in the eve of the 60th anniversary of the UFT our students are the first that will have the opportunity to prove their abilities and to win the first scholarships of BELLA`, the Rector of the university added.

Scholars of BELLA will be chosen with an essay contest. A jury with representatives of the university and the food company will select the winners. The topic of the essay is ‘How I see BELLA’S development in the food industry’, said Zlatislava Medarova, HR Director at the company. All details of terms and conditions of participation will be announced at a special meeting with students. The scholarship programme is a continuation of BELLA policy to establish a direct link between academia and business in the country in order to work together for improving competitiveness of the food industry young professionals in the labour market.
